British Heart Foundation – Registered Charity 225971
BHF was founded in 1961 by a group of medical professionals wanting to fund extra research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart and circulatory disease. Their vision is a world where people don't die from premature heart disease. One person dies from a heart attack every six minutes. That's 10 people every hour in the UK alone!
As the nation's heart charity, they do all they can to help hearts keep beating across the country. This is done by investing in world class research which focuses on the causes of heart disease and identifies potential new treatments which can help heart patients to have a better and longer life.
Each year 160,000 people survive a heart attack. BHF Nurses help heart patients when they need it most, by providing practical and emotional support in their own home. They also invest in education and care programmes which give heart patients, their families, communities and healthcare professionals the latest information and tools available to fight heart disease.
Help mend broken hearts
At the moment, there's no cure for a broken heart. Once your heart muscle is damaged by a heart attack, it can never fully recover. But there is hope.
BHF need to spend £50 million to fund groundbreaking research that could begin to literally 'mend broken hearts' in as little as ten years time.
The funding raised by the proposed MMA show can give hope to hundreds of thousands of people across the UK, that we are helping as a nation to support the causes ran by BHF.
With the help of ticket sales, donations and prize raffles I hope the event will be a great success with a comfortable donation being made to a very worthy cause.
